My wife’s iPhone SE just went dark for no reason. Can’t get anything on the screen or RESET or anything. No computer connection with itunes. She has a lot of unbacked up family photos that she’s freaking out about. Any way to recover those? I was considering buying a used working SE and try to install her memory into it and Reboot. Any thoughts if that would be possible? Any tips?
If your SE is not at all recognized by iTunes when plugged in, there’s not much you can do on your own as it’s most probably not turning on at all. Unfortunately there’s no user accessible memory module one can replace and move to another phone, NAND memory if firmly soldered to the logic board and that’s where all data are stored. If data really matters to you the phone needs to be repaired first to be able to recover the pictures. You’ll need someone into microsoldering who can evaluate and repair the damage.
This could be a screen issue. If you’re willing to spend the money to rule it out then that’s where I would start. iPhone SE Screen Replacement iPhone SE (1st Gen) Screen
