This iPad is very dear to me and I’d like to keep it as factory as possible. it has recently sustained damage similar to dropping it from an extreme height that has caused the chassis to warp and dent in one spot. That spot being on the back corner where the headphone jack is. Everything works just fine on it, the screen is not cracked or damaged in anyway and it does not run hot or with shortened battery life. It don’t have not one scratch on it either. Any chances I can take the thing apart and use a cloth and a small rubber mallet to gently pound out the dent? Any other suggestions? thanks (also, this is the WiFi only model in silver)

Sure you can, providing you find suitable tools to get the job done. Some use a jeweller hammer but you can use anything it can get the job done properly..wood might help hammering out the dent without being destructive. Headphone jack is quite easily removed too. I would recommend taking off the logic board before attempting straightening the housing..hammering may easily damage the board and minimizing any possible stress would be a good idea.
