The specs for the A1494 battery for the MacBook Pro 15" Retina A1398 Late 2013 to Mid 2014 are the same as the A1618 specified only for the MBP 15" Retina Mid-2015, but the only apparent difference is the plastic tab in the bottom center, and I’ve read plenty of reviews where people say they just cut it off and it fit fine after applying the adhesive - anyone tried it in the Mid-2015? Is it just a gratuitous markup?
While the specs of the batteries are the same! Watt Hours: 99 WhVoltage: 11.26 VMilliamp Hours: 8800 mAh And they do look similar!
The chemistry of the batteries are different! As such the charging curves are different! As such you won’t get the best performance from your systems charger.
