I see that the latest questions about the homebutton are from march, I was just wondering if anyone has any news on the homebutton. to use non-parred homebuttons and get the button to work but not the touch id like with the ip6 ? or is the iphone still useless with an oem-homebutton? Update (10/06/2017) Maybe you guys missread my questions.. I was wodering if there are any news on using third-party homebuttons.. as per today the home button is useless… even when replaced. cannot be clicked at all. wondering if there was a silent fix that let people use third-party home buttons.

See @rany answer to this question; I would say that this is the definitive iPhone 7 home button not working after screen replacement.

Honestly we’ve been waiting since the iPhone 5s, the Touch ID equipped home button is encrypted and nobody can hack it from day 1. It’s just that at some point Apple unfortunately decided to include other stuff into the same encryption, like the restore routine on iPhone 6 (luckily they later reversed that) and button function . So no hacking, no news.

I think this is a new solution for home button Iphone 7

On some other forum someone suggested REWA home buttons, PLEASE do not waste your money on that, they are junk and dont help a thing
