so i bought a 6s on ebay described as water damaged. recieved it this morning opened it up and on the back of the board there was at least 20 components missing. the seller said it was never sent for repair and had an apple case number. has apple started to make disappearing components lol. when i plugged it into bench power its not drawing an amps but when i press power it goes to 0.07. in the process of replacing the components. would the 0.07 indicate anything in particular. @refectio

Hmm…never trust eBay sellers to be telling the truth…at least when it comes to iPhones. Before making any assumptions, try to identify what components are missing. For example, are they all caps on the VCC_MAIN line? If so, then someone was short hunting. You don’t necessarily need to replace all of them to get the phone to boot/operate. Are the missing components on various power rails or subsystems? Try to figure out what was wrong initially. Test all the of the PMIC output rails for shorts. If you see issues with PP_CPU/PP_GPU…you may be SOL.
