I broke my original screen and replaced it with the Ifixit front panel assembly. After installing the front panel assembly the sensor seems to think it’s dark all the time. I’m not sure if it was something I did during installation or if it was faulty before installing the front panel. Everything else seems to work fine.
I would suggest to double check you did everything properly, the light sensor is very tiny and might have ended up misplaced unwillingly. Check the connector on the board too just to make sure no debris is present. If these don’t work I don’t see any alternative to buying a new flat cable.
Change the front camera cable, chances are it’s defective. A dark screen with no change in brightness occurs when the ambient light sensor is faulty or no front camera cable is connected.
Hi, Depends on the quality screens your using. Original quality screens never have this problem. So please check if your sensor is perfectly seated. Either way iT your screen or your proximity sensor.
