Hi Guys, I just broke my Airport Card Antenna connector from the Airport Card. There are 2 connectors - “J1” and “J2” J2 is fully broken from the airport card, but the WiFi is still working. Do you have any idea what is the “J2” connection for…? is it just for boost the signal ? Thanks!
I think there are two antennas located in the MBP display. You’re getting a signal probably because one antenna is still connected to the airport card.
I think one of the connector is exclusive for 5Ghz operations, or both connectors are dual band, losing one just means losing a MIMO chain. It only impacts top performance, which is rarely approached.
