I have a whirlpool WTW5800SW0 top loading washer that will occasionally make the buzz/humm and not will not spin at the start of a load. If I open the top and manually move the agitator 1/4 turn or so by hand it will then work properly. Since it seems to work fine once moved, i have no idea where to start on troubleshooting w/ this thing. Thanks.

@niteflite the less likely things that could be causing this are the agitator dogs and/or the direct drive coupling. If those are not working then they usually do not work at all. It may still be worthwhile to check on those. It could be the clutch weakening or the start capacitor on the motor(unlikely but possible) Take a look on here for those parts.
