Keeps saying could not connect to wifi network. Before screen replacement everything worked fine. Does any one have any ideas? Everything was done right nothing was damaged. I dont understand. Any help would be much appreciated. Or do I have to replace the wifi antenna also? Wifi signal is very low also. Also what is the little golden bracket for on the inside right side of screen? Update (06/17/2020) By the way. I can see the wifi logo and its searching its just not finding much. When it does the signal is weak and after clicking on wifi network password is entered and says could not connect. Is this a hardware or software issue do you think?

Hi Lesie, thanks for your response. I’ve just discovered that the original flex cable must be damaged. My first step was solder new speaker onto old flex cable. Thats what was causing the phone to get stuck in boot mode. Then I unsoldered the new speaker, soldered it onto a new flex cable, plugged it in and bam, phone turned on everything ok. Except of course for the Face ID lol. But at least I found the problem, did even have to replace the camera, works fine. So I’m happy about that. What i’m going to do next is take of the flood Illuminator off the original flex cable and with a heat gun replace it on the new flex cable. That should solve my face id issue. I hope hahaha. Man what a learning kerb, the last two days feels like a crash course in everything iphone and components/electronics. And soldering at such a small area and size. But I feel like I’ve gained a world or knowlage how all the components work and what does what that’s all thanks to you guys that helped me out through this. I went into it with zero iphone knowlage or electronics knowlage. It is my first attempt at iphone repairs never done anything like it. Really thanks for all your help guys couldn’t of done it without you. This is a great forum to connect like minded individuals. And people like me who have never done it and ask a million questions.

Check the connections on the motherboard. You might have knocked one loose. The wifi antenna is on the bottom of the phone. It’s the silver strip/bracket looking thing. You can unscrew it and check the connection and make sure all of the ground are have a screw in them and are tight.

Start whit only dockconnector and battery connected to logic bord and restore it on itunes when its done you can connect one component at the time to logic bord so you see where the fault is, i guess your soldering wasn’t done properly and maybe your dot projector is also defect because of water damage.
