I have an Iphone 4S that stopped charging. It also will not connect to a computer. I put a new battery in, it powered up and worked fin. Until the battery went dead. Still no connection or recharge. So, I replaced teh charge port & the mother board & the battery. It’s still doing the same thing. What else could cause this issue? When plugeed in, the back light comes on and it will heat up, but power and connection does not get to the place it needs to. Could this be from the screen? or another component? Thanks so much! You say you replaced the motherboard and it is still not fixed?? You’re using a known good charger and cable, right? Did you try transferring your mother board to the other phone to see if it works there? If not, the board is damaged. It could at component or at chip level. Examine it using 10x or 20x magnification, especially around the battery connector and around all other connectors on the board. If it does work when installed in the other phone, put it back in your phone, connect ONLY the dock connector, the battery and the screen. Plug in a known good charging cable and test. If it does not charge, it is the battery or the charging dock. If it does start and work normally, start adding components and restarting/testing after each one. Note: don’t restore your phone.
