Home button was working fine before the repair, even with a severely shattered screen. New ifixit parts went in nice and smooth, everything work now except the home buttons. My digitizer and lcd cables are fully seated (no white lines) and locked down. Any ideas guys? Bad home button on new digitizer.
You kinda answered your own question. Either the home button is not aligned properly to the two gold contacts on the charging port home button connector or it’s just faulty. You can use the home button from the old screen but it requires realignment and may also need more adhesive for it to stick on properly without home button dipping in.
