I have a Samsung 50" Smart TV model UN50H5203AFXZA that won’t turn on. We had a storm a few weeks ago and it hasn’t turned on since. It was on a power strip too. It has power because the red light below the screen is on and when I attempt to turn it on the red light goes out and the TV tries to turn on but the screen just flashes and the red light comes back on with no display. Also no sound. I have unplugged it depressed power button and let it sit for an hour or so and nothing. Need help.
@hog since you already tried to reset you TV etc., the next step would be to take a look at the power board. Remove the back of your TV and check all the boars for obviously damaged looking components, like charreed, domed or leaking capacitors. Check the fuses on the power board. You will need to check on the fuses to see if you have power on the board. Also, this could have been an issue with the rectifier diodes on the board.
