Chosen Solution

This may not be the right platform but my MacBook Pro is on its last legs (ISO 10.10.5 bought in 2014). I’m looking for advice on what laptop to buy next. I’m looking for something that is sustainable, ideally something I can own for a long time and repair (or have others repair for me) when issues arrise. I’m open to other brands as Apple sucks. I hate that you constantly have to upgrade and that the ability to upgrade weans over time. This is something I’d use for watching tv shows, personal admin and job apps lol. Any advice is appreciated!

This is just a place for you to start. Research is the key to any technical purchase. Generally HP Elitebook laptops are good as they are a business machine and company IT departments need to do quick repair and turn around. As a Mac user the high prices wont bother you much. The service manuals are easily downloadable pdf files. You will find an illustrated parts list in the manual. RAM, SSD, etc. are industry standard so can be easily and competively replaced. Here is an example: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06… or from here: https://support.hp.com/nz-en/product/hp-… Some Lenovo models have good service manuals. Have a look around. Look for disasseble guides here on IFIXIT or You Tube videos.
