iphone 7: Original proximity sensor has rough gold-like surface. The replacement I received from ifixit is smooth black. Thinking maybe this is a black adhesive strip that needs removed, but afraid I will screw something up if I try to pull this off. Does it come off?
Judging by the image shown here there are only small pull tabs for temporary protective layers: iPhone 7 Front Camera and Sensor Cable I see about 2-3:
- One on the front camera lens itself
- One right behind the earpiece speaker contacts
- And one on the proximity sensor itself
