i’ve been using frame adhesive seals from many different sources and have yet to find one that fully covers the case ledge that the display sits on. they also peel off way too easily compared to original apple seal/adhesive. i’m looking for alternatives. does anyone have experience with using adhesives to hold and seal the display to the back case? i’m not looking for water proof, but to accomplish the same thing of keeping the dust and dirt out and holding the display tight against the case, but also be able to be separate the display from the base without having to break anything.

Hi Ifixit offers great adhesive for the screen Iv never had a issue with ifixit seals but most adhesives won’t go 100% edge to edge because the manufacturer need to take tolerances into consideration (eg some phones might be slightly different due to who manufactured the or if they have been used or not, many things) Hopefully this helps Any questions please ask Thanks:-)

As HelloMacOS says, Tessa tape. Get some 2 or 3 mm. You might find it easier to attach it to the screen first as opposed to the frame. When the phone is reassembled apply some heat to the screen to help the adhesive take.i used it on a tablet and the screen has been solid since so it does work well.
