Can anyone assist with what parts I would need to add an SSD to a Mac Mini 2014 that came with a PCIe 512 GB drive? I’d like to make it a dual drive setup, but can’t confirm what part is needed to do so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you already have the PCIe SSD then you’re adding a SATA drive (either a HD or a SSD) You’ll need the to follow this IFIXIT guide Mac mini Late 2014 Hard Drive Cable Replacement and need this part & tool kit: Mac mini Dual Drive Kit. Be careful here! The size of the drive needs to physically fit (12 mm is about it). If you have a SATA HD already then you’ll want this: either the drive carrier with the SSD cable mounted Hard Drive Carrier w/ SSD Flex Cable - Apple P/N 076-00040 or the cable its self Cable, SSD Flex - Apple P/N 076-00018 Here’s the IFIXIT guides: Mac mini Late 2014 Drive Tray ReplacementMac mini Late 2014 PCIe SSD Cable Replacement

When adding a HDD to a PCIe SSD only 2014 mini, which HDD cable do you need? (1) the mini dual drive cable, or (2) the upper SATA cable?
