MacBook Air A1304 Mid 2009 Hi there, I am wondering if this model can have RAM added to it as it has 2GB installed. My system is running slow. Is there additional ports for this and is so where are they located on the machine.
Sorry, none of the MacBook Air series offer upgradable RAM options. The RAM is soldered to the main logic board. I suspect your real issue here is the lack of space on your drive (HD or SSD). You should leave 1/4 to 1/3 of free space for virtual RAM services. See what you can delete and/or copy over onto an external drive. You will also want to look at getting a cleaning program to flush out the old log and cache files that have collected over time. You may want to also think about putting in a larger drive if you have a smaller drive. If you have a hard drive you may want to think about defragmenting the drive. With either a HD or a SSD: You will want to create a bootable external drive (USB Thumb drive). Then using it to boot up your system run Disk Utility from it to repair disk permissions and the disk it’s self. This should improve things as well.
