Hi I have a 3TB Fusion drive and I just bought a 1TB 2.5" SSD (Samsung EVO 840). I want to add it to my iMac as my boot disk and make the Fusion as storage. Is there any way to do so without removing the 3TB HDD and break the Fusion? I saw this product but than I’ll have a useless Blade 128GB SSD: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SATA-Blade-SSD-M… P.S My iMac configuration is: 27-inch, Late 2012 3.4GHz i7 32GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 10.9.1
Only some models have blade connectors are your certain yours is one that does? Have you figured out where and how you will mount the SSD there’s not a lot of room in there. If this answer is acceptable please remember to return and mark it.
i did it back than.. I now have 1TB SSD + 8TB HDD (because the original 3TB died). I used the blade to sata converter + a cable that splits the power from the HDD to both drives. The SSD fits behind the HDD

You have two storage device ports internally. One is a SATA (HD) and the other is a custom Apple blade SSD connector.
