Chosen Solution
In the process of replacing the battery on my 3rd Gen iPod Touch, I accidentally tore the ribbon cable on the front panel (embarrassing mistake). I seem to have successfully removed the old battery and soldered the new one in place as it turned on fine with a 70% charge. Is there any way to tape together or join the torn ribbon or do I have to buy a new one? And if so, is it this? iPod touch (3rd Gen) Front Panel Assembly
If it’s ripped, you need a replacment screen or a pricey microsoldering repair
