Found my old macbook pro A1278 core2duo boots up with a chime but display comes up white, hard disk has been removed earlier, screen seems to be caught with funguses, i am not sure about it, is there a way to find out, that my screen is ok? With some kind of bootable usb? Update (05/02/2018) Update : i found out the issue and it was, the graphics chipset, Re-hot procedure worked on it, and now the macbook is blinking the folder with an question mark. but unfortunately my keyboard is kinda dead, and the hard disk cable has been lost, so my question is, will the macbook accept the hard disk caddy or bootable pendrive, directly ?

The screen is going to remain white until it has an operating system to load from. Either on from the original system optical disk, a retail installation disk or a drive with a system on it.
