First, the original monitor had occaisonal problems, fixed sometimes fiddling with the screen on the hinges. Then, the logic board died, on account of the video card, replaced free by Apple. It worked fine for a few hours, then the screen died having colors flow over the screen (while the external output works) and I bought and changed the inverter, same issue. Then bought new LCD, it was totally white, thought it was DOA. But now the seller has sent me another, with same problem. Once the OS loads I am able to adjust the brightness fine, but can’t see anything. I was thinking that the only thing left would be the data cable, does that make any sense? I’d appreciate your input. I’ve been waiting to fix this computer for about two months!! arrgg.
I would have sent it back to Apple if it only worked for a few hours. I would replace the display data cable since moving the screen helped. All of the LCDs have probably been good. Hre’s the part: [linked product missing or disabled: IF185-133-1]
When the motherboard fails in the graphics regain, alien objects appear on the screen, I’ve seen red and blue lines following windows even yellow checker boards, desplayed. I would say that the logic board is the problem. i would bring it back to apple and it doesn’t surprise me that when u plug a new screen via dongle that it works I dont think it is that data cable and the inverter board, no way, but i think the other screens are fine
