Hi, I’ve got a Sony KD-49XE8396 TV that will switch on show the Sony logo then the Android logo and then switches off, and then blinks red 6 times. I’ve read that this is the backlight, and during it showing the initial logos I can see that the left side is definitely darker. I’ve also read that you can bypass the error to get it working but I’d prefer to fix it if at all possible. Any help would be appreciated. Many Thanks in advance.
@watson306 take a look at the very first board. It seems to be your LED driver board, part number 1-981-457-12 which fits Sony KD-49X720E, KD-49X706E, KD-49X725E, KD-49X727E, KD-49X700E. It appears as if fuse F2000 is no longer there. Looks like it blew right of the solder pads but leaving those intact. You can resolder a new fuse (trying to establish which kind is needed). Something is shortening out on the board. Schematics are not available, which makes it harder to determine what is going on. Of course, you can always see if you find an inexpensive replacement for it. BTW the capacitors look good.
It’s is ossible that art of the backlights have burned out. It’s is an easy fix but I’m thinking you’d have to get the lights from a company like Digi- key or RadioShack might be of help!
