Hello all, I’ve noticed a flickering around the border of about five 6 Plus screens that I’ve installed on customer’s phones in the past couple of weeks. I’ve tried re-seating the ribbon cables with no luck. I’m having this issue with multiple suppliers so I’m wondering if this is a known problem in the industry? I’ve been repairing the 6 Plus for a couple of years now and haven’t had this issue in the past. Any chance anyone could shed any light on the matter? Thanks in advance for your help! P.S. There are different quality backlights suppliers fit to iPhone screens. Copy backlights (may have minor flickering like you say, sometimes it does not completely light the screen evenly) and original backlights (no issues). I stopped repairing phones a year ago, but used to refurbish the screens and always used original backlights because of this. Due to the parts market being so competitive, most iPhone LCD refurbishers use copy glass (edges not rounded properly, no oleophobic coating), copy bezel (lifts over time, not flush or fitting in phone easily), copy backlight and sometimes copy LCD (tienma, etc). This is to cut down on cost, but it will obviously have quality issues, as opposed to original parts being used. When these were newer, nearly all parts in the screens were original. Over time, companies have manufactured copy parts to cut down on cost, which is likely why you are having this issue recently. Try a different (slightly more expensive) supplier to test the quality, or send broken screens/buy excess screens from an iPhone LCD refurbisher, who uses original parts during the manufacturing process.
