I recently bought a used iphone, I opened it to see if it had water damage and I didn’t see signs of moisture damage. I had been using if for a couple of weeks and I started to notice that this showed up when I connected the 3GS to a wall charger “charging is not supported with this accessory” I would just replug it in and it would start charging, this came up more frequently until it just doesn’t show up (the message) and it just doesn’t charge with the wall charger. Weirder still is that I can charge it using my computer and sync, also charge using a mophie juice pack air and a powermat charger I have but if I have the phone connected to the juice pack while its charging it shows the “charging is not supported with this accessory” message. Please Help! I think it may be the dock connecter that is acting up on me but I am not sure and I don’t think its the battery as it still holds a charge :(
How about trying another AC adapter. Be careful, some of the cheaper aftermarket chargers are known to destroy the charging circuit on the iPhone. I doubt that it is your dock connector or anything related to your phone. The dock connector uses the same pins for charging, no matter if it is from a AC adapter or from the USB port of your computer. Check on pinouts.ru and check the diagram ;-) Good Luck and let us know how it is going.
