Hey all. I’m currently waiting for the delivery of a 2009 Macbook Pro 13". It need a new HDD cable. I’ve sized up the pics at all angles of 2 cables. A 2011 and a 2009 cable. Everything seems to be identical. Same number of pins, same size uni body and cable seems to be in the exact same placement inside the case, the IR sensor looks the same, and the tracks seem to run the same way in cable. The placement on the logic board and plug seems to be identical as well. other variables I considered are that a 2009 MBP will run the same hard drives a 2011 will. The pins on the hard drives only do certain things and, don’t the cables have to be made to accommodate that? Does anyone have experience using a different year HDD cable? Can anyone tell me why it wouldn’t work? Thanks for you help in advance.
