I have a 2011 F-150 V8 w/150k mil. I have to replace water pump , also replaced hoses & thermostat . Everything went together well & runs fine . After driving it next day . I notice the coolant fan ( high sp fan, RS) runs all the time After engine get hot. Just curious if anyone had this problem .
Hello, Before you heat up your engine, I suggest to remove the terminal hose from which the water return back to the water tank, in general it’s the upper one (see image below), then start the motor and verify if there is a waterflow coming out from the hose, if there is water then your pump works fine otherwise it’s not or something stuck in the water circuit.
Assuming the water flows normally inside the engine and it stills heating up, then the first suspect is the thermostat blocking the path to the radiator you can check that by barely touching the radiator for a short duration and beware to not burn yourself and stay away from the fan. The last thing is a broken radiator, something stuck inside avoiding water to flow through, remove the intake hose of the radiator and the water tank cork to allow air to escape, then blow air in the intake hose, if you see bubbles ns the water tank as strong as the pressure you put in it then that’s fine.
