Can you use silver solder to attach the flex cable to the logic board? I have solder-it which is a silver based solder paste but I want to make sure it will work without damaging anything. Everything I’ve looked up says to use SMD solder, but I can’t figure out what the difference is?
SMD solder paste has a low melting point. Silver solder is too high and will damage your logic board. PROPERTIES OF SOLDERS What are you soldering? Please post some pics so we can see what you are upto and explain more fully.
