Software update has completely locked up my LG Stylo 2 phone & have pulled the battery out & replaced it several times, turned it off & let it stay off until the battery drained down, recharged it & still can NOT get past the message “Unfortunately, Software Update has stopped.” & clicking on the OK has done NOTHING. Even took it to Boost & they said “buy a new phone…” but this phone was bought new Jan 2017 & I have been in the store numerous times with this phone going totally dead…the manager taking the battery out, replacing it then it starts back up…only to die again. Very frustrated & I think this phone has been defective from the beginning! Now even with insurance it will cost me a $50 deductible to replace it…what do I do with this sorry ass phone? HELP…& thank you!
If you can, follow this thread on rooting the device, and then loading a brand new operating system on to the phone. You will lose all existing data on the phone, however. https://forum.xda-developers.com/android…
