Hello, my MBP has an issue with 100% fans in idle and very Slow CPU. looking at the Temps with HW Monitor i checked that there are some at Around 128degrees. With geekbench the CPU score is about 78 so like 10% of average. I think a replacement of SMC would help. Of course I did all resets and disconnected trackpad, battery , Keyboard etc. Still 100% fans and Apple diagnose gives Code PFM006. so could anybody Show me the exact Location of the SMC chip on the Logicboard? UPDATE Hello, After further inspection I found this burned / shortened / damaged Chip . What do you think about this?

Apple doesn’t offer much info on the error codes. Rarely does the SMC chip its self fail more likely you have issues with its sensor inputs. I would recommend installed a better tool to see whats happening TG Pro you’ll need the full version to get the diagnostics. In this case it’s more likely corrosion damage on the back side of the logic board. Follow this guide to pull the logic board out MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2014 Logic Board Replacement so you can make a careful inspection. Update (04/03/2020) Lets make sure I’ve found the correct part on the logic board you should see a board number 820-3787. If that’s the correct board then this is the damaged part Q8010:
So now you’ll need to find someone with the needed tools to remove it and access to a replacement. This is not something I would recommend someone do as a DIY as you need a small nozzle rework station to properly remove it so you don’t damage the logic board and you still need to find the replacement. You also need to check the rest of the circuit as these don’t typically fail so dramatically. Time to get your system back together so you can get it repaired by someone with the deeper skills and tools it will need.
