Hello! After spilling a lot of beer to my macbook, it turnef on again. The problem is that it runs really slow (not even able to open a image or connect to wifi) but, we we plug it on to the power, it magically start working again. The Macbook is kind of old… so I would love to know what may be the problem before trying to fix it and waste time and money on it. May it be the battery? The mother source? Thanks!!!
This system is still very desirable! But being drunk on beer is not good! It’s going to take some TLC to get it back working. You’ll need to first open the system up following this guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Late 2011 Logic Board Replacement. You’ll need to clean off the parts (case & logic board) of the spilled beer with distilled water and a soft tooth brush as its now caked on do use care! As you don’t want to pull off the small devices from the logic board. Often times you’ll need to replace the uppercase as you really can’t clean the keyboard and you may need to replace the battery. Maybe you need to find an independent Mac repair person to help you here.
