Hello, i have a MacBook Pro 13” Early 2015 that has not been used alot. I recently started using it and it is so painfully slow that I am considering just trading it on to Apple for a new device. But when looking at the specs of this computer, it really should not be this slow. The problems I am facing is that the computer is constantly lagging when doing simple tasks. Lets say I go into either Safari or Chrome and start typing, When i’m writing it lags and it takes it 3-4 seconds to actually start typing on screen. Programs are slow to open some times (not always). If i Microsoft Teams which is a must for me because of my work the computer slows down a lot, and i cant really do video calls with Teams as the quality of the call is just horrible (i have tried with another Mac in-office and that works completely fine). It also starts lagging a lot if i go into basically any web page that use HTML5 and CSS animations. As soon as a simple “Fade” animation is loaded on the mac it slows down and starts lagging, which is a huge problem, considering i work as a web designer. I have the 128GB, 8GB, 2.7 GHz i5 version of this Mac. Steps i have tried: It was slow while running High SierraI updated to Catalina, still slow, tried doing a clean format of the drive and reinstalling Catalina, still slowI updated to Big Sur, still slow, tried doing a clean format of the drive and reinstalling Big Sur, Still slowI have installed CleanMyMac, i constantly have to free up RAM as it gets to about 30MB available even tough i am only running safari and nothing else Could this be a RAM issue? or a SSD issue? I went into the Apple shop but they did not know, and did not feel like helping that day xD

It could be a bad SSD, have you tried creating a bootable external drive to see if it is the SSD? Also there’s no harm in opening it up giving it a good clean and applying some new thermal compound. I believe the SSD’s are swappable in this model but you’d need an adapter to connect the new m.2 as Apple use a proprietary connection, I’ll link the replacement guide below.
