Chosen Solution
Currently working on a customer’s MacBook which apparently had water damage. Anyway, it keeps going into sleep mode unless I connect it to power and external monitor. Sometimes it realizes the lid is still open then switches back to the MacBook screen. Was wondering if anyone knew where the close lid switches are? I ordered a new upper case thinking the sensors were in there some where but it doesnt appear that addressed the issue.
The sensor is on the daughter board, next to the ports there is a thickened PCB with a magnetic sensor on it. Although I can’t say for water damage, you have to trace the wiring all the way to the SMC to find potential damage that is latching the signal.
