Support, I bought a Sony Xperia Z Ultra phone on 9th August through Flipkart (online stores) In India, and upgraded to build number- 14.1.B.1.510 on 30th August. After this upgrade the phone display started going on and off every 10 seconds. Then I power it off, since then I could not restart the phone. The phone is dead! I have pressed the power botton many times, but it was not fruitful. The battery was 100%, still I put it on charging, but it is not showing any charge light. I tried to connect to my computer, that too doesnt work. Is there any way I can power this phone ON again? I m in Lagos, Nigeria. I have contacted Sony centre, but they confirmed there is no Xperia service centre here. please help! Jay
This is like playing the piano. We connect the charger (USB) pressed the button on / off simultaneously with VOL +, the mobile phone after 8 sec. will vibrate once and spent another 5 sec. vibrating three times. Quickly we dropped just the on / off button and turned off the usb cable, the red LED turns off and the device restarts. Once the Sony logo appears we dropped the VOL + button and turn off the phone by pressing the on / off button. Now is the unit off completely. Now just connect … and good luck

I experienced similar issue. all I do is just pressing the tiny red button near sim tray and all is done. I use my point butterfly knife (balisong) btw, and I press it for like 8 seconds and voila. I think you should try to press and hold it.
Hi there, i had the same, phone did not turn on and power led was blinking every 3 secs when i connect charger and didnt turn on :( checked the following: -pushed mini “hard reset button” beneath the sim card cover didnt work -pushed vol down and connected usb cable didnt work (should start with android system menu) Pls do below on your own risk. -took a heat gun (a hair dryer will work also but more time is consumed). Heat back cover till your palm feels quite hot (but not so hot to prevent touching, dont go that hot). Took a very thin “-” screw driver or guitar pick and opened back cover. Found battery connection and removed connection (not the battery) and waited 10 secs. Replugged battery and connected charger. It look like Sony make bad product . I read every where that Power button, head phone jack ,and charge no work . Sony never fix this big problem at all. Believe me. I sent to them 1 time, then it work for 3 days, then dead again. That day out of warranty. My 400 buck is trash
My friend and I had the same issue as well. I just pressed the rest button near the SIM card slot and the phone vibrated thrice. After that, I pressed the power button and it worked.
I have Sony T2 ultra and power button made same problem as it is mentioned abow. I tried many things. 1. reset 2. factory setting 3.Reinstalling with sony pc companion 4. buttonning near simcard tray. None of them worked and finally I opened lid and i got a neddle then poked the mecanism of power button by means of needle then i turned to normal. Now it is working properly.
i had same problem on my zl, i know the phone is fine cause when i hook it up to hml i can see the sreen on my tv, the back light powers up but no picture. rest does nothing, nothing is working to get my picture back.
Just had a similar problem although the light on the right top was blinking like my z ultra was working hard on something reset button didn’t work but power and vol+ did. now it looks fine…. worth trying

I have a Sony Experia Ultra Z, tried updating the operating system from Kit Kat to Lollipop with Sony PC Companion. Now the phone/pablet will not boot up I have tried resetting through holding red button beside Sim, (which does not work)so pushed and held vol up and power button this vibrated three times but phone will still not boot up. ‘Sony Experia’ glides across the screen as before but that is it. Please help
