Chosen Solution
Laptop was working fine last night - booted it up this morning to find a Pink vertical line running down the middle of the screen. This line even appears during boot-up at the Apple logo. No amount of SMC, PRAM, NVRAM or settings changes the behavior.
defective LCD. Sorry to say but its going to have to get replaced. If its under MFW or apple care it would get taken care of.
