I have model KDL-55EX500 SONY. Was watching a program when it made a scratchy sound for a second and shut down, no sound, no picture, will not turn on. I have read posts that say to switch out one of the PC boards inside the TV but how do I figure out which one to change and where would I get replacement boards, SONY or an aftermarket ?
@waynez you don’t just want to replace boards wildly. Unplug your system and take a look at all the board, in particular the power board. Check for any obvious damage like domed or leaking capacitors. Post some images of all your boards with your question. For that use this guide It will allow us to see what you see. Check the power board fuses to see if you even get power to the board and continue your troubleshooting from there.
