I have a Hp 15 and both shift keys are not working.
yes my one shift key is not working
Plug in an external keyboard, do they work now? If no, try the steps below. Go to Control Panel then look for Ease of Access
- Click on Change how your keyboard works.
- Uncheck where it says Turn on Sticky Keys and click OK. If this doesn’t work try checking the keyboard language if set correctly.
- Go back to Control Panel then look for Region and Language and make sure all tabs at set to the United States.
- Click Apply when a change is made then try your keyboard again. If these tricks don’t work, you will need to replace the keyboard.
I put up with this for a while, using caps lock. Then got fed up so proved that it wasn’t Windows by booting Linux, just the same on there, so decided to get a new keyboard. Opened the laptop to check the part number of the keyboard. I then thought what about the connector. So I removed the ribbon cable gave it a clean brushed out the socket it went into and put it back together. It now works perfectly!
