I have a Sharp Microwave Model # R-4A54. When I push the door open switch. Door doesn’t open. I open the microwave and found that if I lift the door open latch from inside little further, door does open. That means from outside door open latch doesn’t have enough torque to open the door. What is the problem? Is there any spring anywhere, which I am missing. Thanks.
Hi @devendraphada , Here’s the service manual for the microwave oven. On p.27 is shows two springs. Spring part #5-4 is on the door latch in the door, (can’t see too well how it is attached). This spring looks like the one that is used to pull the door latch back into the door open position. (see p.25 for the spare part number) With the door open, manually push the door latch head up and feel how much spring tension is there. Spring part #3-4 is on the door button. This spring looks like it is used to restore the door button back to the normal position. (see p.24 for the spare part number) Hopefully this is of some help.
