Friend of mine has a macbook that is giving him a “Service Battery Warning Message”. I downloaded coconut battery and it looked to be normal. Charge capacity was around 4400 still and he could charge it up, so nothing look to indicate there was a problem. He did tell me after I looked at his computer he did smell a burnt plastic smell coming from his laptop about a week ago. My thoughts are just replace the battery. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

Here’s how to do it: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2012 Battery Replacement Here’s three options on OEM batteries: [linked product missing or disabled: IF163-019-1] Knock off batteries can be found on eBay, some work, some don’t. You may see the knock off weighs 1/2 of what an original does because they just don’t have the guts.

The macbook itself is giving this message, then replace the battery. You can find a good legit battery for 40 to 50 bucks. I have swapped a few. They arent hard to do.
