Hi, My iPad3 Wifi is locked in the „Restore Mode“ (iTunes Symbol + cable on Display). First I got “unknown error 9”, after the release of IOS8 “unknown error 4013”. I tried everything on different computers (Win/OSX), USB Ports, DFU/Restore Mode, different cables, and so on – the full program with no success. After endless hours of searching I thought I got the solution – the dock connector must be defect. Today I opened the iPad with the Ifixit toolset (works great!) and replaced the dock connector. What shall I say, still “unknown error 4013”. I tried some other things: Cameras (Front, Back, Front + back) off, Speakers off, Battery reset several times with different cables on different USB Ports at my computer “Unknown error 4013”. Jailbreak Tools doesn’t work cause of the Restore mode. The iPad lays still open beside me, but I don’t know what more I can do? Hope someone got something like an flash of inspiration for me…
Disconnect whole flex cable from MB to cameras and headphone jack
Disconnect the mic assy and that hopefully solve the issue your having.

you’re sure this is iPad 3 and not iPad 4? you were on the right tracking thinking it could be charge port. This is unusual in iPad 3 but common in iPad 4 to have damage to the usb logic ic chip due to non-Apple charger damage. I don’t have any other suggestions for you, it is likely a hardware defect. You could google the difference between recovery mode and DFU mode just to make sure that you are in true DFU mode before attempting to restore via your new charge port. jessa
After a week at the office I’m now working again on my IPad but I don’t know what I can do: The problem is still “Error 4013”: Same problem under Restore + DFU Mode with iTunes 12.1.1.4 (the new one, released this week). I’m sure it’s a hardware problem – but which part? From my point of view it must be: • Dock Connector (already changed) • Front/Rear Camera? • Speaker? • Logic Board? Any Software tools to locate the problem or to build up a connection to my IPad? Kind regards Gregor
Error 4013 SOLVED I had the same problem ERROR 4013 on a iPad WiFi/ Cell , What I did to solve the problem was before to connect to the computer and do the restart I removed the sim card Hope this helps someone! !!
In my opinion this is a bad nand chip. The itunes log would be useful. I have solved such problems with reballs.
guys help l have ipad mini 3 wifi + cellular…….i left it to charge over night and in the morning l found it not switching on i then plugged it again and after some minutes it beggan to switch on , apple loggo, red flash ,dark screen then reboots. it kept on doing that , i have left it to charge for about 2days but keeps rebooting tryed to restore with itunes but it failed….error 4013……anyone help
Was this ever solved? I have an IPAD 5 with same issue.
