Trying to replace my cracked screen but we can’t get the screws out, they keep spinning so we are assuming they are stripped. What can I do to get them out? It is for the metal (?) piece that covers the screen part and it is the screws that are in the little tabs sticking up on the sides. Do I really need that panel to make the phone work? Help please!

I’ve seen people use rubber, like a rubber band, in between the screw driver and screw head to assist in removing stripped screws. If you could find a thin enough piece this may help in gripping the screw (with enough pressure). If the screw is badly stripped I may even try and muscle a flat head in enough to remove the screw.
