Hi, Ican’t cast the screen of my laptop to my smart tv. I have tried everything. Someone that could help me?
Hi, Since you haven’t said what you have tried, all I can do is list the things to check. As you also didn’t provide the laptop model number I’m assuming that you’re trying to connect the laptop to the TV using a HDMI cable and not via vga or DVI. TV checks: Did you check that the TV’s HDMI input port that the laptop is connected to is working OK? Try connecting a dvd player etc to the same HDMI input to prove that it works OK. Laptop checks: In the Windows search box, search for and open Display settings. When the Advanced Display Settings window opens click the drop-down menu under Multiple displays, and select Duplicate these displays and then click Apply. The laptop is now ready to extend the display to the TV. Press the Fn and F4 function keys at the same time to switch the image from the notebook display, to the TV only or to both, the laptop screen and the TV (not sure if Fn + F4 is the correct combination for your model as I don’t know the model number, it may be just a single hotkey along the top row of the keyboard- look for a key with a rectangle symbol with a line either side on it). If you do now get a picture but it doesn’t fit the TV screen properly, check the resolution settings in the laptop set for the external monitor (TV). The TV can handle resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 although most likely the laptop can’t support these high resolutions anyway. To check what resolution is set right-click anywhere on the Windows Desktop screen of the laptop, then select Display settings, scroll to the bottom of the screen, then click Advanced display settings. If more than one monitor is active, select the monitor to adjust. Click Detect to find out which number represents each monitor. Click the Resolution box, then set the resolution to match the default resolution of the TV or the best that the laptop can provide, then click Apply . If the TV is not being detected have you tried a different known working HDMI cable? Have you tried connecting the laptop to another TV to see if it works or not?
