Chosen Solution
So, the screen seems fine before I reassemble the phone. After a little jiggery pockery it seems that as soon as I clip the board into all of the location holes the screen fades and to black then the backlight goes out!
Is is a after market screen you have to cover the little circuit next to LCD connection with tape or the original protection sometimes it touches ground causing shorts.
