Hello all, My power button was stuck so I decided to do a DIY, ordered all the tools and the button as needed. After assembly of the phone, it powers up, connects to itunes and computer, but the screen won’t show up, only back-light… swiping or touching the screen doesn’t do anything. I double checked all the connections, I have NO screws left over, that means i’ve put everything back the proper way. The only hick-up I’ve had was taking out the two screws that hold the power button assy. The digitizer and I’m assuming LCD cables were in the way, so I pushed them back as far as they could without snapping them, that didn’t help so I had to take the rest of the phone apart just to get to that one screw. After putting everything back together, the digitizer cable got stuck, so I had to reassemble, clear it and put everything back together. Nothing seems broken or torn, just slightly stretched I guess. I don’t know what else could be wrong. I hope I don’t have to order a whole new screen (150$) because of that stupid digitizer cable that got stuck and because I had to replace that 5$ power button. Probably will never try to fix another iphone… Any input on fixing this would be appreciated! P.S.: it seems that I’m not the only one with such problem: Screen won’t turn on but iTunes recognizes the phone

A new screen will run you less than a third of what you yourself quoted. It sounds evident that you damaged the screen and digitizer cables. If there is no damage to these connectors on the logic board, I would go ahead and buy a new one and hope for the best.

I think he’s quoting the prices from here: iPhone 4 (CDMA/Verizon) Screen [same for AT&T version] I’m in the UK so I go here: http://wefixmac.com/smart-phones-spares-… 23.99GBP! [same for black, can be found on link above] I’d suggest shopping around as Cody says, you should be able to get one for less, just ensure you get the digitiser and screen together as gluing them together is a real pain in the arse but still more fun than trying to separate the old assembly!
