I just replace my iPhone 5s from water damage. My phone wouldn’t turn on before but now it turns on. I cant restart my device because my power button wont work, I think it might be a easy fix like that. Also my sim card is not working so I cant use iCloud. Also what connectors is the power button and the touch screen. I was having trouble keeping the connecters in place when I was putting it back together.

Water damage is a tricky thing to deal with. Just because you don’t see corrosion doesn’t mean it’s not there, and damage begins almost immediately once the device comes in contact with water. You’ll want to disassemble the device, remove the logic board and clean it yourself with an ultrasonic cleaner before inspecting under a microscope for corrosive damage. Repairing that damage can either be simple or complex depending on the specific damage you find. Once the logic board is cleaned you should check the other components (power button, camera, charging port, etc) for damage and replace them. Also a good idea to replace the battery. Alternatively, you can take it to a local repair shop that does microsoldering/water damage repair. Some repair shops will fix this for a fee for you, others will only offer a data recovery service and not guarantee the extended use of the phone. Whatever you do DO NOT place it in rice or assume that just because you’re able to get the device functioning without either of the two above steps that your device is cured. Issues tend to come up down the line with water damage.
