I have a kdl60ex. Was watching TV then picture disappeared but still have sound. Tried all the resets I read about, and nothing. The screen is still back lit. No noticeable difference in power lights. I have removed the back panel but don’t know what I’m looking at. Any help on what and how to diagnose would be very helpful
@lunitik start by shining a flashlight (in a darkened room)at an angle against the screen (sound going so you know you are on a working station), see if you can make out shadows, silhouettes etc. If so it is your backlight that has failed. If not then you will have to take a closer look at your power board to see if it provides power to the main board as well as the t-con board. Consider posting some good pictures of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. We will also need the exact model number for your TV. “kdl60ex” appears to be incomplete. It should be something like “KDL-60EX645 “ etc,.
