Hi! I have a 2010 27” iMac and every time I turn it on it flashes the screen and stays black.I can access it through a network using screen share and I can use its camera.I can see its desktop and use it normally but from another macbook. But the screen of this iMac doesn’t show anything. What might be the problem? is There anything I can do it before take it to assistance? thank you very much!
Check the LVDS connector from Screen to Logic board. Push it in if it’s out. If not, then worth getting a new LVDS connector cable, try that out before thinking about replacing the screen.
Take a flashlight pressed against the screen at a sharp angle are you able to see a faint image of your desktop and its icons? If you do then the issue is the backlight logic not the LVDS cable or the GPU board. Being able to access your system remotely is a good sign as that tells us the main logic board is good
