My phones screen was cracked for a while but it was small and the touch worked fine. This morning I dropped my phone and the drop messed up my graphics and the touch worked 30% of the time. I took my phone somewhere to get the screen fixed and it was expensive.. ANYway I went home and went to take a photo and black! The front and back were black. in other apps my camera wouldn’t work either. I took it back the guy checked the connections, still nothing.. now my flashlight wont even work either!! HELP! I have restarted, reset to default settings.. idk what else to do.
I would take it back to them and have them test with another screen or test with a new camera sensor. I have repaired quite a few 7 and 7 plus and only one did not have a working camera (the new screen came with one already on it but still put the old on).. I took the old camera off (their screen was shattered extremely bad) and put it on the new screen. Turned it on and it did not work. I took the “old” camera back out and replaced it with one that came with the new screen and it worked.
The chip linked to the camera/flash on your motherboard is probably dead. This can be caused by water damage or soldering error during reparation. First step, go back to the repair shop and ask to test your phone with a new camera module. Sometimes, a new camera can solve the problem. If it still black, it will be surely the chip on the motherboard that is dead (short circuit). Ask for repair it (50$). Best
