Hello all. I recently replaced my screen on my 6 plus. Just a week ago it started going black and would take a few minutes for the screen to work again. Now it won’t come on. The funny part is when I open the phone up the screen works and as soon as I snap it back into the frame the screen goes black again. What could this be?
My first guess is that a cable on your new display is unreliable: As the cable flexes when you close up your iPhone, one or more conductors in the cable are losing their connection. If evidence shows that there is an iffy conductor, I’d remove and reattach the display, in hope that it’s simply a poorly seated connector. To determine if it the simple case that the display is simply not displaying anything, I’d try using a USB cable and see if the device shows up in iTunes even with a non-functional display. If the old working-but-cracked display is still available and viable, I would temporarily re-install it and see if the old screen’s behavior is normal.
i had this on 5s and 6plus, so when open and usable, restore on apple by pressing on button, and home same time until itunes says this phone has a problem….restore it….just as a first attempt at repair still only works when i opened it up…so pressed on logic board a few times…and in settings , screen lock as NEVER, screen time off, all other settings off, no fingerprint, no apple ID, only wifi….closed it up and stayed OK was it me pressing the logic board?… if all fails can use with screen slightly open I suppose, permanently fixed somehow away from the body?
