I fixed the charging port on my iPhone 6s, but following the LCD lit up displaying a white screen when starting the phone up. This was the same for two of the phones I replaced the ports on. What went wrong in this process? everything works now after I changed the screen.
Some basic things.
- Make sure you unplug the battery, if you don’t it can short out not only the screen but other components as well.
- When attempting any repair I recommend taking the screen off so it doesn’t get damaged. If you are not going to take the screen off, then simply don’t bend it past 90 degrees, this will break the flex cable.
- One last thing, you may want to consider purchasing a grounding bracelet. This will make sure you do not cause shorts with your own static electricity. You can find it here.
