I don’t know how to post this with a photo of the screen but if there are any old timers out there who remember when TV stations we not on 24-hours a day that when they went off the air the screen was white background with random dots on it. My daughters screen looks like that, seems to be functioning - you can call it and it rings, but no screen definition at all. Before I get out the heat gun and shell out a couple hundred bucks for a new screen I was hoping that if it were something else someone will chime in. Thanks, Duane
This may require a recalibration of the LCD/DIGITIZER connection. If you do plan to attempt this, be very careful about removing that screen. The whole front assembly is adhered to the midframe of this device. So, too much bending may cause parts to be damaged. A repair shop that is knowledgable about working on galaxy s5 phones will know this. Im sure there is a guide to removing the screen without damaging it. I’ll look for a link≥
Thanks! I’ve got both a heat gun and hair dryer so I appreciate the tip related to the heat gun as that is the first one I would have grabbed. Duane
